Funded by Design Trust HK, interMISSION is a monthly event series that consists of hands-on gameplay sessions, design workshops and industry roundtables, bridging the gap between annual Games for Change conferences.
These experiential sessions explore various topics, such as climate change and poverty, demonstrating the educational and impact potential of games. The final session of the series will be a game design workshop, providing participants with an opportunity to design a serious game of their own, fostering creativity and innovation and inspiring them to become game changers themselves, promoting the use of games and interactive media for social good.
Through interMISSION, the Games for Change APAC-HK team not only highlights the work of Hong Kong designers but also creates a platform for exploring the intersection of games, interactive media, and pressing societal issues. The initiative encourages critical thinking, empathy, and problem-solving skills, harnessing the power of games to educate, advocate, and drive positive change.
In the heart of urban Hong Kong, interMISSION and OWLHK orchestrated a triumphant event, merging education with entertainment through the "Law of the Forest" board game. The game showcased the delicate balance in Hong Kong's ecosystem, fostering a deeper connection to nature. Janice's guidance added a personal touch, making the event not just informative but also a community-building success.
