Shadows of Fire is a visual novel game designed for Hong Kong higher primary school teachers who are interested in value education.
Based on the newly written Cantonese play, Shadows of Fire serves as an extension to the Tea House Student Matinees, aiming to enhance the traditional Chinese values education experience that is woven into the play itself.

The goal is to immerse students in ancient China through engaging challenges, sparking their interest in Chinese history, culture, and values.
🎲 The Outcome
A visual novel curriculum where students roleplay young Wulin Heroes and make executive decisions that have an material impact the storyline. By uncovering the mystery of a fire, students develop problem-solving skills while deepening their understanding and appreciation of Chinese values and traditions, fostering a connection to their heritage.
For all of our school curriculum design, we also provide custom-designed student journals and comprehensive lesson plans that will allow educators to become game masters in the classroom.
Lesson 1:
Lesson 1 of this curriculum introduces the students as the Young Wulin Heroes, as they enter the city and complete essential tasks to prepare for their mission. At the end of the lesson, they meet a key informant, and the success of using their communication and empathy skills determines the outcome of the next stage of their journey.
Lesson 2:
Lesson 2 focuses on uncovering the culprit behind the fire. The Young Wulin Heroes must decide whether to protect the suspect from unjust judgment and trials. A surprising twist reveals a hidden connection between a new ally and the suspect, challenging the heroes' sense of value and justice.
